Cat Talk

Are you an animal lover?

Did you know?

EVERYDAY In Great Britain more than 2,000 healthy dogs and as many cats are destroyed because they are unwanted!

Many of these unwanted pets are not strays.

They are “extra” puppies and kittens produced by the lack of effective neutering and spaying of otherwise well loved pets.

What’s your excuse for not neutering your pet?

“But, We always find good homes for them.”

‘But how many of them are still in those homes a year or two later?’

‘Have you been to check?’

‘How many puppies or kittens will those ones have?’

It is just not feasible to find homes for ALL of them!

“The animal welfare society will take care of them”

‘They do the best they can, but there aren’t enough homes for all of us.

Some of us will have to die!

‘If you let your cat or dog breed, you will be adding to the number of unwanted pets!’

“Its unnatural to operate on animals, and interfere with their lives.

Nature intended animals to have babies”

‘Yes , but because you feed us and look after us, we have many more

Babies than we would do in the wild.

‘Man interfered with nature when he tamed us,

Now it is his responsibility to see that we don’t suffer.’

“I can’t afford to have her spayed?”

‘Why not start by putting 50p away each week now? ‘

‘It cost more to feed a pregnant mother and a litter of puppies or kittens until they are old enough to give away, than it does to spay your pet.’

“I want my children to have the

experience of watching puppies and kittens

being born”

‘But it is it worth bringing more unwanted animals into the world?’

‘There aren’t enough homes to go round.’

‘If you find homes for your puppies and kittens, you’re ensuring that other peoples puppies and kittens will be killed!’

Lots of cats have to be spayed when heavily pregnant because there are not enough homes for the kittens.

Its safe to have me spayed early on in

pregnancy.

The vet will advise you and

pregnancy won’t change my

Temperament.

“We meant to get her spayed, but then she slipped out and got

Pregnant.

Anyway I’d like her to have one litter, it will settle her down.

Besides we like puppies”

Do you like them well enough to keep all the puppies I have?

“I enjoy my sex-life and I want my pets to enjoy theirs.”

‘Would you enjoy it so much if you had to give birth twice a year?

We can’t have sex without babies.

Anyway, animals don’t worry about the past or present.

You might reminisce about what might have been, but we don’t!

“But spaying will hurt her”

Giving birth hurts a lot more!

Spaying is a safe operation.

Afterwards I’ll be more contented and healthier too.

And if you neuter me, I won’t be out every night,

getting into fights, in danger of getting run over by a car and

or having bricks thrown at me by people who don’t

appreciate my tomcat aroma and my lovely singing voice.

“But she’s such a good mouser, Spaying will make her fat and lazy.”

NO! It won’t.

Once a mouser always a mouser.

And I won’t get fat unless you

overfeed me.

PLEASE GIVE THE PUPPIES AND KITTENS THAT ARE ALREADY BORN A CHANCE TO LIVE.
